C & C in France Paris Mission

 C & C in France Paris Mission

Week 15

July 23-29 2023

This week, we spent time at the Paris Center and helped the missionaries with greeting people and assisting with people who wanted to do their genealogy of Family Search.

We really enjoy having baguettes for lunch with meat, cheese, lettuce, and then enjoying wonderful croissants. French cheeses of all kinds, an a delicious pastry.

Serving others is such a joy.  We really have grown to love the people here - our Mission President and his wife, all of the missionaries, and our brothers and sisters in our Paris Ward.  We so enjoy getting to know them as we serve together.  From Monday FHE and dinners, to assisting with family genealogy to helping with directions in the Center, we love serving here in Paris.

We have learned to much about the culture and the history here as well.  This building where we meet was built in the early 1600's and has so much history and stories of its own.  A lord and his family lived here, and it has been through many a nobility, families for hundreds of years and now it serves as a meeting place for us.

We hope to explore more of Paris and other parts of France as much as we can as I will be seeing a knee specialist next week.  I twisted my knee while in our apartment on June 29th.  My knee hasn't been able to fully extend or flex, so I will need to have it looked at by a specialist.  We hope that we can find out if surgery will be needed. If so, this could be our last week in Paris.

Our Zone Meeting was excellent.  It was the first one for our new mission president and his wife, President and Soeur Munns.  The missionaries in this district are all present. We love and appreciate all that they are and do.  What a choice group of young people and senior missionaries. The best!

We had a Zone Meeting with President and Sister Munns - their first one.

Craig and I are enjoying eating the wonderful cheeses, fruits and vegetables and meats that we can buy at the weekly street market right by our apartment.  It is full of the freshest produce and has just about anything you might need to eat available.  We enjoy going each Thursday.

Another daily activity we enjoy is taking the bus to the Paris Center and the Metro back to our apartment.  We finally have it down and enjoy exploring sights all over Paris.  Even with me on crutches, I seem to be able to get around some.  I am grateful for that.  The crutches are put on my forearm and hands, not under my arms.  It takes strength to get around town.  I even go to the gym and do upper body strengthening so I can maneuver around better. Craig is very patient with me and does most of the cooking and cleaning.  I do the folding and can now push myself around the apartment on the office chair which has rollers on it.  Thank goodness for wheels on chairs!

We are learning mores French and reading it in our French scriptures.  We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn more and study the scriptures and grow closer to our Savior.

We love and miss you all so very much.  We continue to pray for you and your continued health and appreciate the calls and texts.

God be with you!  Love you all!
